Worship and Church Members/ Associates
- The office has been updating all member files, using the updated “Revelations” computer program so we can have better records of Baptisms and birthdays and financial giving statements. The member/visitor files will be continually in the update process for the next several months.
- Giving statements were prepared by the church office manager- Trevor.
-10-18-2009 Installation as Pastor of Bethel. Created and sent out postcards to most neighbors and businesses from area of: Wilshire to Pico from La Brea to Fairfax. Installation featured Bishop Dean Nelson and Hamilton High School Academy of Music. Both Alia and I became members of Bethel Lutheran Church.
11-28-2009 Hanging of the Greens and Sanctuary preparation for Advent.

12-2009 Began leading church announcements after Peace and before Offering and Communion
12-2009 Began new Church website for Bethel called www.Bchurch.us
1-2010 Began active involvement with Bethel’s Golf Pro’s
Youth and Congregational Ministries
-10-10-2009 Participated in the Bethel Clean up day, focused on prayer courtyard, continued clean-up subsequently with patching/eliminating pest holes in all of grounds.
-11-22-2009 Stewardship Sunday- designed and printed estimate of giving/ time and talents cards, which were either handed out or mailed to everyone in the church directory.
-12-15-2009 Met with Ritz Plumbing to reignite Furnace, placed new air filters, and updated sanctuary and chapel library thermostats.
-12-20-2009 Christmas Pageant was recorded and edited, video posted to website. Youth Christmas Caroling was to Berdell White’s home.
-1-17-2009 Giving statements were prepared by the church office manager- Trevor.
-1-17-2010 Scheduled and volunteered at the SOVA Food Pantry 8846 Pico
-Sept- Jan … have been meeting One-On with Congregation Members, ideally at their homes to learn Congregation Members stories and experience. Looking to expand on visiting to everyone at least once this coming year. Invitations are welcomed, or expect a call.
Partner Ministries
-9-17-2009 had lunch meeting with La Presb. Pastor Q. and Good Shepherd Pastor Choi ….. – next meeting planned for first week of Feb. 2010 to especially address insurance issues and working on communication patterns with resident churches, especially considering building issues (i.e.- roaches, locks, etc.)
-10-17-2009 attended local PicFair Community Neighborhood Organization Meeting.
- 11-21-2010 participated in the Greater Los Angeles Thrivent Lutheran and Habitat for Humanity Build Day opportunity in Downey for The Monroy Family. . Next opportunity is
-12-1-2009- SoCal Synod new pastor orientation, met Andreas the financial guru of Synod and other staff of Synod.
-12-4-2009 met with Mutual Insurance Rep and Bethel Finance member Jeff H.
-12-5-2009 help host, with audio DJing, a Children’s Christmas Carol concert in Thousand Oaks for about 50 youth and 200 people connected to the King of Glory Lutheran Church Music Program.
- 12-13-2009 Applied for and received $1020 in Thrivent Care in Congregations Fund that went into operating budget income. The congregational coordinator positions ended in 2009 due to the ending of the Care in Congregations Program. The roles will be redefined as congregational advocates for 2010. The Thrivent Choice program is launching in Spring 2010, but may not having the same funding for Lutheran Churches. The Thrivent Board which meets at Angelica Lutheran has invited me to join their Board meetings.
- 12-20-2009 and New Year’s Eve 2009 LA Presbyterian was given privilege to again use the sanctuary/ church property. They gave an additional sum for these uses.
-1-5-2010 Changed tennis schedule and Began attending LA Metro Conference Lutheran Pastor’s Bible Study on every Tuesday.
1-25—27-2010 Bishop’s Colloquy for all Pastors/ leaders of Synod, Santa Barbara.
